My Own Ritual
My Own Ritual was a project created for Allerzielen Alom which guided people in making their own ritual to remember a deceased person in a special way.
The Bible features eight ancient rituals which haven’t been performed for centuries (for example, certain sacrificial rituals). Visitors to Allerzielen Alom could come to my desk (installed at the cemetery) to make their own ritual which was based on the original eight rituals. We worked together to transform the ancient ritual into their own, personalized ritual
Allerzielen Alom Velzen ran ‘My Own Ritual’ in Zwanenburg in 2011, and the project was done in collaboration with Ida van der Lee, Studio Ritual Art.
